All Ages Hike: Unearth the Story of Erie Sand Barrens Nature Preserve

Lauren Stewart, Ecological Analyst NW/NC, in the Division of Natural Areas & Preserves for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources will lead an all ages hike at the Erie Sand Barrens Nature Preserve in Sandusky, Ohio as part of our Adult Summer Learning program.
Stroll back in time to the sandy dunes and ridges of glacial Lake Warren and enjoy the fresh summer air. Join education staff on this easy 1 mile hike. We will see many pollinators, fantastic native Ohio flowers, and various wildlife. This hike is on relatively flat terrain but will be muddy and slick with rain. Estimated program length is 30min-1hr. Program is dependent on weather. No restrooms on site. Parking is roadside along Taylor Road- carpooling is recommended where possible.
