Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky Marks 25 Years of Unforgettable Family Fun
The Brand’s Second Ever Lodge Location Celebrates a Quarter Century of Family Memory Making
Sandusky, Ohio – Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky is celebrating 25 years of creating family memories in and around Ohio — a milestone for one of the region’s most visited family resort destinations. Originally opened as Great Bear Lodge in 2001, the resort helped establish Sandusky as a year-round travel destination and helped Great Wolf Lodge become North America’s largest collection of indoor water park resorts.
Over the past quarter century, Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky has welcomed generations of Ohio families and millions of visitors to the Lake Erie Shores & Islands region, helping extend tourism season beyond the traditional summer. The property’s mix of an expansive indoor water park, family-friendly attractions and entertainment and on-site dining established a model now used at more than 20 resorts across the country.
“The opening of our resort here in Sandusky served as a key chapter in the overall Great Wolf Lodge story as it demonstrated that the concept we established in the Wisconsin Dells could be replicated across the country,” said Jes McAdam-Sellers, general manager of the resort. “We’re extremely grateful to the families across the Midwest have trusted over the past 25-years to provide a high-quality family experience, and we look forward to continuing to serve this community for many years to come.”
